Harrison Park

Harrison Park is a 4.846-acre neighborhood park located in the Harrison West community of Columbus, Ohio. The park was acquired in 2007 and has since become an integral part of the area's recreational landscape.

One of the park's most notable features is its connection to the Olentangy Trail, a popular multi-use path that runs through the park. This provides visitors with easy access to the broader Olentangy Trail Parkland system, enhancing connectivity and recreational opportunities.

The park offers a variety of amenities designed to cater to different age groups and interests. For younger visitors, there is a playground area that includes equipment for older children as well as a specially designed space for younger children called Funk-ee-Town. This area, named in memory of long-time Harrison West resident Mary Funk, features a safety surface and is fenced for added security.

Harrison Park also boasts scenic river views, making it an ideal spot for nature enthusiasts and those seeking a peaceful retreat. The open grass fields provide ample space for picnics, casual games, or simply relaxing with a book.

Art enthusiasts will appreciate the four public art pieces displayed throughout the park. These sculptures were designed by Columbus College of Art & Design students and were chosen through community-wide votes, reflecting the neighborhood's engagement in the park's development.

For those interested in community gatherings or events, the park features a handicap-accessible gazebo designed to host celebratory events such as concerts and weddings. This, along with the picnic tables and benches scattered throughout the park, makes Harrison Park a focal point for community life in Harrison West.
