Swan Lake Park

Swan Lake Park is a historic urban park located in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Situated in the Swan Lake neighborhood, the park encompasses approximately 4 acres and is centered around a man-made lake. The park's history dates back to the early 20th century when it was originally a spring-fed watering hole for cattle around 1900.

The focal point of Swan Lake Park is its namesake lake, which features a lighted, ornamental stone fountain. The fountain, originally built in the 1920s, has recently undergone renovation after being non-functional for over two decades. In November 2024, the fountain was restored to working condition, revitalizing this historic landmark.

Surrounding the lake is a 0.4-mile walking path, providing visitors with an opportunity for leisurely strolls and exercise. The park is known for its waterfowl population, making it a popular spot for bird watching. Various species of ducks, geese, and other birds can be observed throughout the year.

Swan Lake Park also features several notable sculptures. At the park entrance, visitors can find a larger-than-life bronze sculpture of a trumpeter swan in flight. Another sculpture, titled "Enchantment," depicts a boy with a swan and was relocated from the 1934 Chicago World's Fair.

The park serves as a central gathering place for the community, hosting various events throughout the year. These include an annual block party in September, a Halloween parade and costume contest, and "Lights on Swan Lake" in November, fostering community spirit and public participation.
