Dream Keepers Park

Dream Keepers Park, formerly known as Veterans Park, is a 15-acre green space located in downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma. Situated near the Arkansas River, the park offers a serene environment for visitors to enjoy outdoor activities and connect with nature.

The park features expansive open fields that provide ample space for various recreational pursuits. A notable element of Dream Keepers Park is its veterans memorial area, which pays tribute to those who have served in the armed forces. This memorial serves as a place of reflection and remembrance for the community.

For families and children, the park includes a playground area equipped with a splash pad, offering a refreshing option for warm days. Walking trails meander through the park, allowing visitors to explore the grounds and enjoy leisurely strolls or more vigorous exercise.

In October 2024, city officials announced a $9 million revitalization plan for Dream Keepers Park. The proposed upgrades include a new children's play area, a one-mile loop trail, a hardscaped plaza stage, and new signage. The plan also incorporates tribal gardens representing the Cherokee Nation, Osage Nation, and Muscogee (Creek) Nation, reflecting the area's Native American heritage. Additionally, the renovation will feature a display of flags from the 39 tribal nations of Oklahoma around the veterans' monument.

The park's redesign aims to create a cultural destination that highlights Tulsa's Native American history and culture. Interpretive markers explaining the city's native history are planned to be installed throughout the park. The renovation also includes plans to close off a short stretch of Boulder Park Drive that currently divides the park, unifying the space.

Dream Keepers Park serves as a venue for community events, including Tulsa's Native American Day celebration. With its combination of open spaces, recreational facilities, and cultural significance, the park provides a multifaceted environment for Tulsa residents and visitors to enjoy nature, learn about local history, and participate in community activities.
