About Veterans Park in Tulsa

Veterans Park is a 15-acre urban oasis located in downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma. Originally known as Boulder Park, it was rededicated as Veterans Park in 1990 to honor all Tulsa County veterans. The park serves as a visual reminder that freedom comes at a cost and pays tribute to those who have served in the military.

The park features several memorials commemorating the service of Tulsa County veterans from various conflicts. A permanent memorial, dedicated in 1954, stands in a small grove of trees and honors citizens of Tulsa County who gave their lives in defense of the country. In 1985, a commemorative obelisk was added, dedicated to members of the armed forces from Tulsa County who sacrificed their lives for the nation. This obelisk specifically mentions World War I, World War II, Korea, and Vietnam.

Veterans Park offers scenic walking paths that wind through lush greenery and alongside tranquil water features. Visitors can enjoy picturesque views of the downtown Tulsa skyline while strolling through the park. The landscape includes open grassy areas ideal for picnics or relaxation.

In addition to its role as a memorial, Veterans Park serves as a gathering place for community events and activities. It's a popular spot for both quiet reflection and recreational pursuits, providing a serene escape within the urban environment of Tulsa.
