Blakely Park is a neighborhood park located in Bend, Oregon, south of the Old Mill district. The park spans 3.4 acres and offers a variety of recreational facilities for visitors. It features a large, popular playground that attracts families with children.
The park boasts expansive lawn areas and shade trees, making it an ideal spot for picnicking or casual sports activities like soccer or flag football. A half basketball court is available for those interested in shooting hoops or playing a quick game.
Blakely Park's location provides convenient access to nearby trails. It is in proximity to both the Deschutes River Trail and the Central Oregon Canal Trail, offering opportunities for walking, jogging, or cycling. The park also has a paved neighborhood access point path on its west side, connecting to the sidewalk along Brookswood Boulevard to the east.
Permanent restroom facilities are available on-site for visitor convenience. The park is open daily from 5 am to 10 pm, allowing for extended use throughout the day.
For organized sports, portions of Blakely Park are available for field rentals from April 1 through October 31, subject to reservation and permit requirements. This makes the park suitable for practices, games, and other programmed activities under proper supervision.
Acquired in 1995, Blakely Park was initially named Penstemon Park during its design phase in 2001. It was renamed to Blakely Park in 2002, paying homage to the "Old Blakely" road that once ran nearby, thus preserving a piece of local history.
