Rood Bridge Park is a 61-acre community park located in southeast Hillsboro, Oregon. Situated along the Tualatin River and Rock Creek, the park offers a diverse range of natural and recreational spaces for visitors to enjoy.
The park features both wooded areas and open meadows, with over 43 acres of forest and floodplain habitat. A network of paved and unpaved trails winds through the park, totaling over 18,000 feet in length. These trails provide opportunities for walking, jogging, and nature observation.
One of the park's notable features is the Lloyd Baron Rhododendron Garden, which contains over 550 species of rhododendrons and azaleas spread across 1.5 acres. The garden includes a pond with waterfalls and a pavilion designed for events like weddings.
Rood Bridge Park also contains the River House, a nearly 3,000 square foot lodge-style building that can be rented for educational classes and private functions. The building has a central meeting room, kitchen, restrooms, and activity spaces.
For recreation, the park offers tennis courts, a playground, and a small boat launch providing access to the Tualatin River. Several covered picnic shelters are available throughout the park. The park serves as a venue for community events and is used as a training ground for the local high school's cross-country team.
