Gilbert Heights Park

Gilbert Heights Park is a neighborhood park located in the Powellhurst-Gilbert area of Portland, Oregon. Acquired by the city in 1993, this 3.81-acre green space serves as a valuable recreational area for local residents.

The park is situated adjacent to Gilbert Heights Elementary School, providing a convenient outdoor space for students and families. In 2010, the park underwent improvements with the addition of a new ball field, complete with dugouts and bleachers, enhancing its sports facilities.

Gilbert Heights Park also serves an important community function as a Basic Earthquake Emergency Communication Node (BEECN). In the event of a major earthquake that disrupts phone services, this park is designated as a location where residents can go to request emergency assistance or report severe damage or injuries.

The park is accessible from SE 130th Avenue and Boise Street, making it easily reachable for the surrounding neighborhood.
