The park offers a variety of recreational opportunities for visitors. It features walking paths that wind through the wooded areas, providing a peaceful setting for nature enthusiasts. The park also includes open lawn areas suitable for picnicking and casual outdoor activities.

For disc golf enthusiasts, Vance Park offers a 9-hole course that was established in 2007. The course is relatively flat and features holes that are under 300 feet in length, making it suitable for players of various skill levels.
The park is part of a larger county-owned property that includes adjacent sites of a former landfill and quarry. As of 2022, there are ongoing plans to renovate and expand the park area, with goals to remediate the environmental impact of past uses and provide more green space to the community.
