Great Hills Municipal Park

Great Hills Neighborhood Park is an 85-acre green space located in northwest Austin, Texas. The park is situated within the Bull Creek Watershed, offering visitors a serene natural environment in the midst of an urban setting.

The park features approximately 1.7 miles of maintained trails, with additional rough trails available for exploration. These paths wind through the park's diverse landscape, providing opportunities for hiking, nature observation, and exercise. The natural area within the park supports a variety of native plants and wildlife, making it an ideal location for birdwatching and botanical interests.

Great Hills Neighborhood Park includes a playscape area with swings, slides, and climbing equipment, catering to families with children. For fitness enthusiasts, the park offers outdoor exercise equipment. A covered 20 x 30 foot pavilion with picnic tables is available on a first-come, first-served basis, providing a space for gatherings and outdoor meals.

The park also incorporates elements that support local wildlife, such as chimney swift towers near the playscape and bat nesting boxes near the Floral Park trailhead entrance. Native plant gardens throughout the park enhance its ecological value and aesthetic appeal.

Visitors should note that the park operates from 5 am to 10 pm daily, and there are no restroom facilities on site. The park encourages responsible use, with rules in place such as keeping pets on leashes and prohibiting glass containers, motorized vehicles, and alcohol.
