Wooten Neighborhood Park is a 6.28-acre community green space located in Austin, Texas. The park serves as a central gathering spot for residents of the Wooten neighborhood in north central Austin.
The park is situated adjacent to Wooten Elementary School, providing easy access for students and families. It features a large open field suitable for various recreational activities and sports. A walking trail circles part of the park, offering opportunities for exercise and leisurely strolls.
One of the park's main attractions is its playground area, which includes equipment suitable for children of different ages. In 2019, a new playscape was installed, updating the play options for neighborhood kids. The park also boasts a covered basketball court, which not only provides a space for basketball enthusiasts but also serves as a shaded area for community events.
In recent years, the park has benefited from community involvement and improvement efforts. In 2005, fifteen trees were planted along the north side of the park with help from the Austin Parks Foundation and area residents. Additionally, the park features raised planting beds near the school, installed in 2010 as part of a health initiative project.
