Its creation was part of a broader initiative to reduce crime and beautify neighborhoods in Fort Worth. The land for the park was acquired through the Model Block Program, with two lots obtained by the Jennings-May-St. Louis Neighborhood Development Corporation and an additional small tract donated by the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway Company.
Jennings-May-St. Louis Park serves as a local green space for residents of the surrounding community. Visitors to the park can observe and record sightings of local plant and animal species through the iNaturalist platform, contributing to citizen science efforts in the area.
