Patricia Leblanc Park

Patricia LeBlanc Park is a 15-acre public park located in Fort Worth, Texas. Officially acquired on December 4, 1984, the park was originally known as Hulen Bend Park during its planning stage. It was later named after Patricia Ann LeBlanc, the deceased mother of Richard LeBlanc, who was the managing partner for Hulen Street Venture, the developer of the surrounding subdivision.

The park gained nationwide attention in 1992 for being the country's first fully accessible playground for children with disabilities. This transformation was made possible by Playgrounds Unlimited, Inc., a non-profit organization formed specifically to raise funds for the park's renovation. The organization also established an endowment for the park's ongoing maintenance.

Patricia LeBlanc Park features trails designed to heighten sensory experiences, making it an inclusive space for visitors of all abilities. The park is situated on Granbury Cut-Off Street in Fort Worth, near Oakmont Elementary School. It is open from dawn to dusk, providing ample time for community members to enjoy its facilities.

The park's location and design make it a valuable recreational resource for the southwest Fort Worth area. Its emphasis on accessibility and inclusivity sets it apart as a pioneering example of park design that caters to a diverse range of physical abilities.
