About Finnigan Park in Houston

Finnigan Park is a 19-acre community park located in northeast Houston, Texas, south of I-10 East. The park is named after Annette Finnigan, who donated the land to provide Black residents of Houston with a new green space.

The Finnigan Park Project, a partnership between the Office of Harris County Commissioner Rodney Ellis, the City of Houston, and HISD, was established to create educational, social, and recreational opportunities for residents. The park serves as a popular outdoor destination for visitors of all ages and abilities.

Finnigan Park is home to the Finnigan Community Center, which offers various classes and resources for school-age children and older residents. The center includes a Youth Education Town (YET), created with the help of the NFL, which focuses on helping youth in the community learn new skills and provides a safe place for them to gather and have fun.

The park is open daily from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm, providing ample opportunity for community members to enjoy its facilities and natural surroundings.
