About Antonio Marron Sr. Park in Houston

Antonio Marron Park, located in Houston's East End neighborhood, is a 19-acre green space along the southern bank of Buffalo Bayou. Named after a longtime East End activist, the park serves as a vital community gathering place for residents of the Greater East End and Fifth Ward areas.

The park features a mix of natural landscapes and recreational facilities, providing visitors with a variety of options for outdoor activities. Its location along Buffalo Bayou offers scenic views and opportunities for nature observation.

Antonio Marron Park is currently undergoing a significant expansion and renovation project as part of the Buffalo Bayou East Master Plan. When completed, the park will nearly double in size to 40 acres, enhancing its role as a primary green space destination for the area.

While the park is closed for construction until early 2027, the planned improvements aim to create a more diverse and accessible space for community use. The renovations will incorporate both wild landscapes adapted to the bayou's flooding patterns and civic spaces designed for a wide range of activities.
