Mission Hill Park

Mission Hill Park is a 10-acre public park located at 2100 Independence Drive in New Braunfels, Texas. The park, which began development in 2022, is situated west of Loop 337 and provides the first public recreational space for residents in that area of the city.

The park's development has been divided into multiple phases. Phase 1, completed in 2022, included the construction of a parking lot and trailhead improvements. Phase 2, which broke ground in February 2025, is a more extensive $12 million project approved by voters in 2023 as part of Proposition B.

Key features of Phase 2 include a three-story, 7,600-square-foot observation tower with meeting space and restrooms on the first floor. An elevated walkway will connect the ground level to the second floor of the tower, offering panoramic views of the surrounding area. The project also includes an ADA-accessible path from Independence Drive to the top of the hill and several natural surface trails throughout the hilltop property.

Mission Hill Park is designed to preserve native plants and protect wildlife habitat while providing historical and environmental education opportunities. The park's location offers picturesque views of the Texas Hill Country, making it an attractive destination for both residents and visitors.

Construction of Phase 2 is anticipated to be completed by February 2026, further enhancing the recreational offerings in New Braunfels as the city continues to grow.
