Bertrand F. Harrison Arboretum and Botany Pond

The BYU Botany Pond, located on the campus of Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, is part of the Bertrand F. Harrison Arboretum. This small urban oasis features a duck pond and stream, surrounded by native plants from both eastern and western regions of the United States. The arboretum is named after Bertrand F. Harrison, a botany professor at BYU who retired in 1974.

The area includes a brick path that winds through the garden, allowing visitors to observe the diverse plant life and wildlife. The pond is home to ducks and turtles, making it a popular spot for both students and local families. Originally, the trees in the arboretum were planted to reflect the geography of the United States, with species chosen to represent different regions.
