Jordan Park is a public green space located along the Jordan River in Salt Lake City, Utah. Established in 1918, the park now covers 33.5 acres, offering residents and visitors a variety of recreational opportunities and natural spaces to enjoy.
The park is situated at the intersection of 900 West and 1000 South, making it easily accessible to nearby communities. One of its most notable features is the International Peace Gardens, founded in 1939 and dedicated in 1952. These gardens showcase flora and cultural elements from 28 different countries, promoting international understanding and peace.
Jordan Park includes several sports facilities, including softball fields and a bike polo court. For skateboarding enthusiasts, there is a skate park that was constructed in 2001, replacing a former public swimming pool and bathhouse. The park also provides multiple playgrounds for children, catering to families and young visitors.
The park offers various amenities for picnicking and outdoor gatherings, including pavilions that can be reserved for events. Some of these pavilions are equipped with barbecue grills and electrical outlets, accommodating different needs for social gatherings.
As part of the larger Jordan River Parkway system, Jordan Park connects to a network of trails along the river, allowing for extended walks, runs, or bike rides through Salt Lake City's green corridor.
