About Beach Park in Alexandria
Beach Park is a rustic neighborhood park located in Alexandria, Virginia. The park sits on city-owned land behind Maury School and was originally developed in 1954 by the Rosemont Civic Association.
In the early 1970s, the park was redeveloped and renamed in honor of Miss Lillian Beach, who served as the Principal of Maury School. Today, Beach Park features mature oak, maple, dogwood, and locust trees that provide shade throughout the area.
The park includes a playground for children as well as open grassy areas suitable for casual sports and recreation. Benches are available for seating. Beach Park has been adopted by the Rosemont Citizens' Association, which helps maintain the space for community use.
While relatively small, Beach Park serves as a peaceful green space for the surrounding Rosemont neighborhood. Its rustic, natural character and playground make it a popular spot for local families to enjoy outdoor time together.
