Oak Grove Lake Park

Oak Grove Lake Park is a 157-acre public park located in Chesapeake, Virginia. The centerpiece of the park is a 65-acre lake surrounded by a 1.5-mile multi-use trail. The trail is suitable for walking, jogging, and biking, offering visitors scenic views of the lake, forested areas, and local wildlife.

The park features a mix of habitats including hardwood forest and wetlands, providing a diverse ecosystem for various plant and animal species. Visitors can observe waterfowl, songbirds, and other wildlife from several vantage points along the trail.

For those interested in fishing, the lake is stocked with largemouth bass and channel catfish. Fishing is permitted from designated fishing platforms around the lake, though a Virginia freshwater fishing license is required for anglers aged 16 and older.

Oak Grove Lake Park also includes recreational facilities for families and fitness enthusiasts. There is a playground area with modern equipment for children, and six outdoor fitness stations are positioned around the trail for adults looking to incorporate strength training into their walks or runs.
