Heritage Park

Heritage Park is a scenic neighborhood park located in Renton, Washington. The park opened in June 2007 and serves as a celebration of Renton's past, present, and future. Situated southeast of Renton Technical College in the Highlands area, Heritage Park spans 9.18 acres, with 4.18 acres dedicated to recreational purposes.

The park offers a harmonious blend of natural beauty and recreational amenities, making it an ideal spot for local residents and visitors alike. Heritage Park features both paved and forested walking paths, allowing visitors to enjoy a stroll through towering Douglas fir trees or along a one-third mile paved path that circles the park.

In addition to its natural elements, Heritage Park provides various facilities for active recreation and community gatherings. The park includes a grass sports field, play structures for children of different ages, and climbing boulders that offer a unique challenge for adventurous visitors.

One of the park's notable features is its picnic shelter, which can be reserved for gatherings and events. The shelter is a popular spot for community members to come together and enjoy outdoor meals or celebrations.

In 2017, the park underwent improvements to address drainage issues. The city installed a series of rock-filled gabion check dams to channel and slow water runoff from the grass field. This project also included planting drought-tolerant grasses and low shrubs, creating an attractive transition between the lawn area and the adjacent forest.
