About Lakeview Park in Seattle
Lakeview Park is a 4.5-acre green space located in the Denny-Blaine neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. Designed as part of the Olmsted Brothers park system in Seattle, this park spans both sides of Lake Washington Boulevard as it winds down a hillside towards Lake Washington.
The park's western half features a bowl-like area with grass and trees along 37th Ave E. and E. Harrison Street. On the eastern side, the park incorporates a lookout point at the end of E. Harrison Street and an undeveloped hillside between Hillside Drive E. and McGilvra Boulevard E.
Lakeview Park offers visitors a combination of natural beauty and scenic views. From certain vantage points within the park, one can enjoy sweeping vistas of Lake Washington and the Cascade Mountains. The park's design takes advantage of the natural topography, providing a peaceful retreat within the urban landscape.
Often referred to by locals as "Mud Park," Lakeview Park can become somewhat muddy during rainy periods, adding an interesting characteristic to its identity. The upper campus of The Bush School is located across E. Harrison Street and Hillside Drive E. from the park, integrating it into the local community fabric.
