Foley Park

Foley Neighborhood Park Property is located in the Felida area of Vancouver, Washington. This park, formerly part of a family farm, was acquired by Clark County in 2006. The property spans approximately 10 acres and features a historic pear orchard with around 150 trees, some of which are estimated to be over 40 years old.

The park is named after Hubert and Ople Foley, who owned and farmed the land for nearly 50 years before it became public property. Hubert Foley, an agronomist and electrician, cultivated various fruit trees on the land, including pears, apples, peaches, plums, and cherries.

While much of the park remains undeveloped, it offers visitors a glimpse into the area's agricultural past. The pear orchard is a focal point of the property, and efforts have been made by community organizations to restore and maintain it. Urban Abundance, a local non-profit, has partnered with Clark County to manage the orchard, hosting pruning workshops and harvest events.

The park provides a mix of open fields and wooded areas. Trails wind through the property, allowing visitors to explore the orchard and forested sections. These paths offer opportunities for walking and nature observation.

Foley Neighborhood Park Property serves as both a community green space and a living piece of local history, preserving a portion of Vancouver's agricultural heritage while providing recreational opportunities for area residents.
