Burr Jones Field

Burr Jones Park is a 4.68-acre neighborhood park in Madison, Wisconsin. The park sits along the shoreline of the Yahara River, providing visitors with access to fishing opportunities.

Open from 4:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily, Burr Jones Park features a multi-use open field that is often used for activities like ultimate frisbee. The field is equipped with lights, allowing for extended evening use. The park also contains two basketball courts for recreational play.

Burr Jones Park connects to the local bike path network, with an access point at the intersection of North Thornton Avenue and East Johnson Street. This makes the park easily reachable by cyclists and pedestrians.

As one of Madison's alcohol-free parks, Burr Jones Park is considered family-friendly and suitable for children. Licensed and leashed dogs are permitted in the park with the proper permit. Park visitors should note that there are no restroom facilities or drinking water available on-site.

The park was named in honor of Burr W. Jones, who served as a member of the Madison Park and Pleasure Drive Association in the early 20th century.
