Rhodes Park

Rufus Rhodes Park is a 3.2-acre urban green space located in Birmingham, Alabama. The park is nestled along the curves of Highland Avenue in the historic Highland Park neighborhood, offering residents and visitors a tranquil retreat within the city.

Named after Rufus Napoleon Rhodes, the founder of what is now The Birmingham News, the park has a rich history dating back to the early 20th century. It was one of the first neighborhood parks to be restored in Birmingham, serving as a successful example of a public-private partnership between the city, public and private groups, and the neighborhood association.

The park features well-maintained trails suitable for walking and jogging, making it a popular spot for fitness enthusiasts. Its layout includes open grassy areas ideal for relaxation and picnicking, complemented by mature trees that provide ample shade.
