About KFQD Park in Anchorage
KFQD Park is an 8-acre park located in the Bayshore/Klatt neighborhood of south Anchorage, Alaska. Situated across the street from Bayshore Elementary School, the park offers a natural, undeveloped feel that is valued by the community.
The park features an open field area which provides space for various recreational activities. A paved trail connects Bayshore Drive to Admiralty Bay Drive, allowing for walking and jogging through the park. For younger visitors, there is play equipment designed for children aged 2-5 years old.
In 2021, Anchorage voters approved funding for community-defined improvements to KFQD Park. These improvements, which began construction in June 2024, focus on enhancing the park's existing features while maintaining its natural character. The upgrades include improving drainage in the open field, upgrading the play equipment, adding a short bike loop near the play area, and enhancing the seating and amenities around the picnic shelter.
