About Daley Park in Tempe
Daley Park is a 17-acre public green space located in central Tempe, Arizona, at the intersection of College Avenue and Encanto Drive. As one of Tempe's oldest parks, it has been serving the local community since the 1950s. The park was named after Ed Daley, a former City Manager who served Tempe for nearly 20 years until his death in 1953.
The park offers a variety of recreational facilities and natural features that cater to diverse interests and age groups. Its expansive grounds include sports fields, playground areas, and open spaces for relaxation and leisure activities. The lush greenery and mature trees provide ample shade, making it an ideal spot for picnics and outdoor gatherings.
One of the park's notable features is a 400-foot mural located along College Avenue between Broadway Road and Apache Boulevard. Titled "Meet Me at Daley Park," this colorful artwork by Jake Early depicts a historical timeline of the neighborhood, adding a cultural and artistic element to the park's surroundings.
Daley Park's central location and diverse amenities make it a popular destination for local residents and visitors alike. The park is open daily from 6 a.m. to 12 a.m., providing ample opportunity for community members to enjoy its facilities throughout the day.
