Interstate Park

Interstate Park is a 71-acre public recreation area located in Little Rock, Arkansas. The park is situated adjacent to the Fourche River Bottoms, with both Fourche Creek and Swaggerty Creek traversing the site. This provides a unique natural setting within an urban environment.

The park features a mix of recreational facilities and natural areas. It is known for its sports complexes, which cater to various athletic activities. The park opened in April 1980 and has since served over a million visitors, hosting softball, kickball, and football games, as well as providing spaces for spectators to watch these activities.

Between 2011 and 2014, Interstate Park underwent significant renovations valued at more than $500,000. These improvements included renovated concession stands and restroom facilities, new roofs on three buildings, electrical repairs, new picnic tables, and various other enhancements to the park's infrastructure and amenities.

The park serves as home to the Little Rock Parks & Recreation Adult Softball league, which is affiliated with USSSA and supports nearly 50 teams each year. It also hosts the youth athletics division of Little Rock Parks & Recreation, particularly for football, softball, and tee-ball. On weekends, the park is a venue for softball tournaments and other special events.

Interstate Park is not just for organized sports; it's also popular with local law enforcement K-9 officers who use the open fields for training their dogs. Additionally, the park has an agreement with local school districts, allowing them to use the facilities for varsity and junior varsity softball games.
