El Rancho Verde Park

El Rancho Verde Park is located in Hayward, California. The park spans approximately 10.5 acres and is situated at 175 Fairway Street in a single-family residential neighborhood. El Rancho Verde Park serves as a local recreational space for the community.

The park's primary use is for sports fields, which include one major baseball field, one minor baseball field, and one t-ball field. These fields are clustered around a central plaza area. The park also features a children's play area, which adds a neighborhood amenity to attract various park users.

In 2019, the Hayward Area Recreation and Park District (HARD) began a master planning process for El Rancho Verde Park, done in conjunction with nearby Bidwell Park. Community meetings were held to gather input from residents, and a preferred master plan was selected by the community in August 2019. The HARD Board approved the El Rancho Verde Park master plan in April 2020.

The park has undergone recent expansion, with HARD purchasing an additional 2.48 acres from the New Haven Unified School District. This expansion includes the acquisition of a ball diamond and field previously owned by the school district.

Improvements to El Rancho Verde Park are ongoing, with a total project budget of $3,000,000. The park's development aims to enhance recreational opportunities for local residents while maintaining its primary function as a sports facility.
