Shoreline Aquatic Park

ShoreLine Aquatic Park is a public park located in Long Beach, California, situated between the Long Beach Arena and Downtown Shoreline Marina. The park spans approximately 12.3 acres and offers visitors a wide open green space with scenic views of the surrounding area.

The park's most notable feature is its 65-foot tall Lions Lighthouse for Sight, dedicated on December 10, 2000, by the local Lions Club of Long Beach. While non-functional, this lighthouse serves as a symbol of awareness for the blind and visually impaired. At its base, visitors can find historical images depicting past Long Beach attractions, including the original municipal auditorium and the Pike amusement park.

ShoreLine Aquatic Park provides stunning vistas of several local landmarks, including the Queen Mary, the Long Beach skyline, and the nearby Aquarium of the Pacific. The park's location on Queensway Bay allows visitors to enjoy cool ocean breezes and observe various boats in the harbor.

The park features a sandy beach area on its north side, facing Rainbow Harbor. However, it's important to note that the beach terminates at a protective rocky shoreline, making it less suitable for water activities. Instead, the park is primarily used for picnics, relaxation, and special events.

A wooden boardwalk pathway crosses the sand, allowing visitors to stroll along the waterfront. The park also includes a Navy memorial, adding historical significance to the area. Its central grassy hill provides an excellent vantage point for taking in the surrounding views.
