About Rock Ridge Park in Moreno Valley
Rock Ridge Park is a 2-acre neighborhood park located on the outskirts of Moreno Valley, California. Established on June 22, 2009, this compact green space offers recreational facilities for local residents.
The park features two playgrounds catering to different age groups. The larger playground, designed for children aged 6-12, includes a tall swirly slide, a jungle gym course with platforms, various types of ladders, talk tubes, stairs, and other play equipment. The smaller playground, intended for ages 2-5, has slides, a rock climbing wall, talk tubes, games, ladders, and stairs. Both playgrounds have a mulch surface, so closed-toe shoes are recommended for safety.
Rock Ridge Park provides two large gazebos, each equipped with four picnic tables, barbecues, water fountains, trash cans, and recycling bins. These picnic shelters can be rented for events. Additionally, the park has unshaded picnic tables with small grills in more isolated areas.
The park includes grassy areas suitable for various activities such as football or soccer. Walking paths totaling 0.19 miles are illuminated for evening use. On the eastern side of the park, a trail leads into the surrounding mountains, offering access to miles of hiking routes.
True to its name, Rock Ridge Park features rocky ridges characteristic of the Inland Empire region. The park's design incorporates both recreational facilities and natural landscape elements, providing a blend of structured play areas and opportunities to explore the local terrain.
