About Legion Park in Pasadena

Legion Park is a two-acre public park located on Fair Oaks Avenue in Pasadena, California. The park is home to the War Memorial Building, a significant historical structure built in 1921 and recognized as a city cultural heritage landmark. This two-story, 12,000-square-foot building was constructed on the former Oak Lawn Park using funding from city bonds and donations from the American Legion.

The War Memorial Building's upper floor features a kitchen and a large multi-purpose room suitable for various activities such as dancing, meetings, and banquets, with a capacity for up to 200 people. The lower floor consists of smaller rooms, storage areas, and restroom facilities.

To the north of the building, the park grounds are dedicated to a landscaped memorial garden. This area provides a peaceful space for reflection and remembrance.

Legion Park serves as an important community gathering place, offering both recreational space and a venue for events and activities. Its central location on Fair Oaks Avenue makes it easily accessible to Pasadena residents and visitors alike.
