Yacht Club Community Park

The Yacht Club Community Park in Cape Coral, Florida, is a historic waterfront destination located directly on the Caloosahatchee River. Established in 1958, it is one of the original landmarks of the city and encompasses a wide range of facilities and amenities. The park features a public beach along the river, providing residents and visitors with a unique freshwater beach experience in Cape Coral.

The park has been a popular spot for various activities, including swimming, fishing, and boating. It has traditionally offered a fishing pier, which has been a favored location for anglers. The community park has also been known for its Olympic-sized swimming pool, although this facility, along with others, is currently undergoing renovation.

As of 2025, the Yacht Club Community Park is in the midst of a significant renovation project. The City of Cape Coral has been working with the US Army Corps of Engineers since 2021 to renovate the park. The renovation plans include the construction of a new two-story community center with an island ambiance, a resort-style pool, and various related amenities.

During the renovation period, which is expected to continue for some time, many of the park's facilities are closed or have limited access. The main ballroom building, the Tony Rotino Center, tennis courts, pool, and Harbormaster's building are undergoing demolition as part of the renovation process. However, the beach area remains open with limited amenities, allowing visitors to still enjoy the waterfront setting.

The park has been a central gathering place for the community, hosting various events throughout the year. One popular event has been the "Sunset Celebration," which typically takes place on the first Wednesday of every month, featuring local arts & crafts vendors, live music, food trucks, and beautiful sunsets over the water.
