Anderson Park

Anderson Park is a community park located on Atlanta's west side. Spanning approximately 51.7 acres, this active recreational space offers a variety of facilities and amenities for local residents and visitors.

The park features multiple sports fields, including a football field with artificial turf, stadium seating, and a concession building with bathrooms. There is also a multi-use athletic field with natural grass that can accommodate football and soccer. For track and field enthusiasts, the park boasts an 8-lane 400-meter track.

Anderson Park includes areas dedicated to other sports as well. There are two tennis courts with lights and a soccer court converted from a former tennis court. The park also houses a swimming pool for aquatic activities.

For fitness-minded visitors, the park offers an outdoor workout area with five stations, including equipment such as a free runner/single air walker, parallel bars, flex trainer, chest press, and multi-level pull-up bars. This area is conveniently located next to the playground and is mostly shaded by mature trees.

Families with children can enjoy the playground, which is designed for ages 2-5 and 5-12. It features multiple slides, swings, and climbing structures. The playground area has a wood chip surface and is shaded by surrounding trees, with swing benches available for seating.

The park also includes green spaces for relaxation and casual recreation. These areas can be found behind the tennis courts, next to the workout equipment, and adjacent to the football field. For those looking to walk or jog, the park offers the Lionel Hampton Trail in addition to its track.

Anderson Park provides basic amenities such as a pavilion with picnic tables and a grill, located next to the parking lot. The park has approximately 45 parking spaces, including handicap-accessible spots. Bathrooms and water fountains are available at the concession building.
