About Peppermint Park in Boise
Peppermint Park is a 7-acre neighborhood park located in Southwest Boise, Idaho. The park is situated next to Pepper Ridge Elementary School, providing a convenient recreational space for both the school and the surrounding community.
The park features a playground that was completed in May 2013, incorporating sustainable rubber tiles that reduce maintenance costs and enhance the play value. In 2023, two shade structures were added to the playground area, offering visitors protection from the elements.
Peppermint Park caters to various age groups with its amenities. For younger children, there is a separate, smaller play structure specifically designed for ages 2-5, which includes a dinosaur theme with a climbable dinosaur skull and spine. The park also features a school bus spring rider that is particularly popular among toddlers.
For sports enthusiasts, the park offers multiple court options. There are two tennis courts and one basketball court, all of which are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Additionally, the park includes two dual-use courts that can be used for pickleball.
The park provides ample open play areas with cut grass, offering opportunities for various recreational activities suitable for people of all ages. These spaces are ideal for informal games, picnics, or simply relaxing outdoors.
Peppermint Park is open from sunrise to sunset. While restrooms are available during warmer months, they are closed during the winter season, with portable restrooms provided as an alternative.
