Mt. Greenwood Park is a 52.53-acre public park located in the Mount Greenwood neighborhood on the southwest side of Chicago, Illinois. The park serves as a significant recreational space for the local community.
The park features a variety of outdoor and indoor facilities to accommodate diverse recreational needs. Its expansive grounds include eleven baseball fields and tennis courts, providing ample space for sports enthusiasts. The park also boasts two gardens, adding a touch of natural beauty to the urban landscape.
For aquatic activities, Mt. Greenwood Park offers a swimming pool, which is particularly popular during the summer months. In winter, visitors can enjoy ice skating at the park's refrigerated ice rink, making it a year-round destination for outdoor recreation.
One of the park's notable features is its interactive musical playground, described as gleaming and innovative. This playground goes beyond traditional equipment, offering unique play experiences for children. Additionally, the park includes the White Sox Baseball Miracle Field, which is designed to be ADA accessible, ensuring inclusivity for all visitors.

Mt. Greenwood Park has undergone several improvements over the years. In 2004, the park was expanded after acquiring land from the Board of Education. In 2008, a fully accessible soft surface playground was dedicated, featuring interactive art components designed by local artists through the Chicago Public Art Group.
The park's history is closely tied to the development of the Mount Greenwood community. It takes its name from the surrounding area, which was inspired by the greenery of a nearby cemetery established in 1879. The park itself was created in the post-World War II era as part of the Chicago Park District's Ten Year Plan to increase recreational opportunities in the rapidly growing neighborhood.
