Cotton Tail Park

Cotton Tail Park, located in Chicago's Near South Side neighborhood, covers 2.35 acres of well-maintained green space. Established in 1990, the land was donated by the Dearborn Park Corporation to the Chicago Park District. The park underwent landscaping designed by in-house architects, featuring a central lawn surrounded by walkways adorned with planters, lampposts, and benches. The name "Cotton Tail Park" was chosen in 1998, inspired by the numerous cotton-tailed rabbits that inhabit the area and delight neighborhood children.

The park includes a playground that has been periodically upgraded, ensuring it remains a safe and enjoyable place for children to play. The playground features a rubberized surface for accessibility. Open fields provide space for sports, picnics, and other recreational activities, making it a favorite spot for local families. In addition to the playground, there are benches, paths, and a landscaped environment for visitors to relax or take a stroll. The park is an active community hub, although structured programs are not directly hosted there. It benefits significantly from proximity to nearby Ping Tom Memorial Park for more organized activities.
