Roosevelt Park

Roosevelt (Theodore) Park is a small but vibrant public park located in Chicago's Near South community along Roosevelt Road. Spanning 2.26 acres, the park offers open space for relaxation and recreation, making it a cherished green area in the South Loop neighborhood. Its history dates back to the mid-1970s when the Chicago Park District acquired the land during the development of the Dearborn Park residential complex. Officially conveyed to the Park District in 1985, it has since been named in honor of Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th U.S. President, renowned for his dedication to conservation and urban park initiatives.

The park features various amenities that cater to visitors of all ages. A play area provides entertainment for children, while the three tennis courts accommodate sports enthusiasts. The park's open lawn, encircled by a running track, offers space for casual activities or exercise. Although there are no structured programs directly operated at this park, nearby facilities such as Maggie Daley Park provide additional recreational opportunities.
