Crossroads Park

Crossroads Park is a prominent community park owned and managed by the City of West Des Moines, Iowa. Located along the east side of Interstate 35, just south of the I-235/I-80 interchange, it is one of the city's most visible parks. The park spans a significant area and offers a variety of recreational facilities for visitors of all ages.

Recently renovated, Crossroads Park features a new playground with modern equipment, providing an exciting play area for children. The park also includes six tennis courts, offering opportunities for sports enthusiasts to enjoy outdoor activities. Its location adjacent to Crossroads Park Elementary School allows easy access to additional playground facilities.

The park incorporates various water quality improvement features, including a series of bioretention cells along the existing parking lot and a regenerative stream channel with native plantings. These elements not only enhance the park's aesthetic appeal but also serve important environmental functions, treating stormwater within the park and runoff from adjacent areas, including a large apartment complex and the nearby interstate system.
