Thomas Stoll Memorial Park

Thomas S. Stoll Memorial Park is an 80-acre public park located in Overland Park, Kansas. The park was dedicated in 1981 and named in honor of Thomas S. Stoll, who was instrumental in its development and served as chairman of the district's Board of Park and Recreation Commissioners before passing away the previous year.

The park features a picturesque walking trail that winds through the grounds, offering visitors a chance to enjoy nature and get some exercise. A small fishing pond is stocked with a variety of fish, including largemouth bass, bluegill, and channel catfish. Fishing enthusiasts should note that both Johnson County Park & Recreation District (JCPRD) fishing permits and state fishing licenses are required.

One of the park's notable features is its seven-acre dog off-leash area, which includes a separate 1/3-acre section for small dogs weighing 25 pounds or less. This fenced area provides ample space for dogs to run and play, with maintenance closures scheduled weekly to ensure the area remains in good condition.

For sports enthusiasts, the park boasts seven athletic playing fields that are available by reservation. These fields are primarily used for adult softball and youth soccer leagues, which help support the park's maintenance and development through fees.

The park's development utilized a unique combination of funding sources. The land was purchased in 1971 using Land and Water Conservation Funds from the U.S. Department of Interior, matched by local financing from the District.
