Joe Creason Park

Joe Creason Park is a 62.15-acre municipal park located in the Poplar Level neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky. Situated near the city's central region, it is an ideal spot for nature enthusiasts and outdoor activity seekers. The park is bordered by Beargrass Creek and connects directly to the Beargrass Creek State Nature Preserve, offering further opportunities for ecological exploration and trail experiences. Historically, the park opened in 1966, its land having transitioned from private estates and farms through the years.

Named after Joe Creason, a beloved journalist for *The Courier-Journal*, the park holds historical significance and is home to the Louisville Tennis Center, where notable tennis players such as Arthur Ashe and Billie Jean King have competed. The center features nine clay courts along with facilities for spectators. The park also includes a 1.5-mile paved multi-use trail, which is popular among walkers, runners, and hikers, as well as open spaces for sports and recreation.
