Clouet Gardens

Clouet Gardens is a community park located in the Bywater neighborhood of New Orleans, Louisiana. The park sits on a large, grassy lot on Clouet Street, between Royal and Dauphine Streets. For over 15 years, this plot of land stood vacant and blighted, owned by the Housing Authority of New Orleans. In 2010, local residents began to reclaim the space, transforming it into a small neighborhood park.

In 2011, neighbors signed a 10-year lease for the property and continued its transformation into a vibrant community space. The garden has become a gathering spot for the neighborhood, where volunteers maintain the plantings and colorful murals that adorn the space. Clouet Gardens hosts various community events, including public art projects, performances, and music - fitting for its location in New Orleans.
