About Jay Dix Station in Columbia

Jay Dix Station is a 30-acre park located in Columbia, Missouri, serving as a trailhead for the MKT Trail. The park, named in honor of Dr. Jay Dix, the esteemed medical examiner who served Boone County for over two decades, was developed through a cooperative agreement between Boone County and the City of Columbia Parks and Recreation Department.

The park features a train station theme, paying homage to the history of the MKT Trail. Visitors can access the east side of Scott Boulevard through an underpass, where additional facilities are available. Jay Dix Station offers a variety of recreational options for park-goers, including fitness stations, a playground, and open play fields.

Development of the park began after a 2009 agreement between the City of Columbia and Boone County. The property was annexed into the city limits in 2013, and construction was completed in 2015. The park's address changed following a road realignment project in 2014.

Jay Dix Station is open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily, providing ample time for visitors to enjoy its facilities. The park offers 65 parking spaces, including 3 ADA-compliant spots, making it easily accessible to a wide range of visitors.
