Established in 1971 and later renamed to honor the contributions of the Columbia Cosmopolitan Luncheon Club, the park has undergone significant developments over the years.
One of the park's standout features is its 6-acre fishing lake, which is a popular spot for year-round fishing. In the winter, the lake is stocked with trout as part of a seasonal program, with ice fishing available when conditions permit. A scenic 0.46-mile lakeside trail offers an easy path for walking and enjoying the tranquil surroundings. The park also shares a 12-court tennis complex with Columbia Public Schools, including eight lighted courts, which accommodate both public and school use.
For family gatherings and social events, the park offers multiple picnic shelters, including reservable spaces with lighting and electrical outlets. Children can enjoy the playground, while sports enthusiasts make use of the baseball/softball practice field, sand volleyball court, and horseshoe pits.
