Yeatman Square Park

Yeatman Square Park is one of 108 parks in St. Louis, Missouri. Established in 1906, it covers an area of 3.46 acres within the city's total parkland of 2,956 acres. The park is located in the JeffVanderLou Neighborhood, an area that combines industrial and residential elements.

The park's boundaries are defined by Market Street to the north, Leffingwell Avenue to the east, Magazine Street to the south, and Glasgow Avenue to the west. It was named after James E. Yeatman (1818-1902), a prominent St. Louis businessman, philanthropist, and civic leader who played significant roles in the city's development during the mid-19th century.

Yeatman Square Park features basketball courts and tennis courts. The basketball courts are in playable condition, although they have some graffiti. The tennis courts are notably well-maintained, with good surface conditions, nets, and fencing. However, they are often locked, suggesting they may be reserved for organized groups or schools.

The surrounding area has seen significant changes over time. Many residential properties near the park are in various states of neglect and disrepair. The neighborhood also includes large warehouses and former industrial buildings, reflecting its mixed-use character.
