Westover Park is a 1.8-acre community park located in West Central Durham, North Carolina. The park offers a peaceful green space for local residents and visitors alike.
The park features a playground suitable for children ages 2-12, providing a safe and enjoyable area for younger visitors to play and explore. Families can take advantage of the picnic tables and grill available on-site, making it an ideal spot for outdoor meals and gatherings.
Westover Park also serves as an access point to the local greenway system, connecting visitors to the West Ellerbee Creek Trail. In 2019, the park received a unique addition through a public art project. The City of Durham's Cultural and Public Art Program collaborated with local artist JP Trostle and six youth interns from YouthWork to design and install a temporary public art installation. This project added a creative element to the park's landscape, enhancing its visual appeal and community engagement.
