Big Sky Park

Big Sky Park is a sprawling 97-acre community park located on the east side of Bend, Oregon. The park is home to the Luke Damon Sports Complex, a multi-purpose athletic facility that serves as a hub for various sports activities in Central Oregon.

The park features an array of sports fields, including four multi-purpose fields used for lacrosse, rugby, soccer, ultimate frisbee, and football. There is also a full-sized, grass-infield baseball diamond and a softball field. These fields host numerous local youth and adult sports programs throughout the year.

In addition to traditional sports facilities, Big Sky Park boasts a BMX track operated by Bend BMX. The park has recently expanded to include a bike park with features for riders of all skill levels. The bike park, completed in June 2023, includes a pump track, tot zone, trials area, bike skills development area, and single-track trails.

For those seeking a more relaxed outdoor experience, the park offers an off-leash dog area located in the northeast corner. This area includes a large, grassy space with a fenced play area and walking trails through natural areas. Water spigots are available for pets on hot days.

Big Sky Park also caters to families with a playground area and three covered picnic shelters available for rent. These shelters are popular spots for birthday parties, team gatherings, and other social events. The park provides ample parking, with recent improvements adding 93 new spaces to accommodate visitors.

A soft-surface perimeter trail loops around the park, offering over 1.5 miles of pathway for walking, jogging, or casual biking. This trail provides access to various park amenities and offers views of the surrounding landscape.

The park is open daily from 5 am to 10 pm, making it accessible for early morning activities and evening events alike. Its diverse range of facilities and open spaces make Big Sky Park a popular destination for sports enthusiasts, families, and outdoor recreationists in the Bend community.
