Martin Luther King Park

Martin Luther King Park is a 12-acre community park located in the Carver Heights neighborhood of East Fort Worth, Texas. The park was established in 1969, a year after the assassination of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., for whom it is named.

The park serves as an important gathering place and recreational area for the local community. At its center is the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, which opened in 1973 and offers various programs and services to residents.

Over the years, the park has seen several improvements to enhance its facilities and usability. In 2003, playground upgrades were completed using Community Development Block Grant funds. In 2006, the Fort Worth Park & Recreation Department undertook projects to improve the park's walking trails.

The park provides green space and recreational amenities in an urban setting, allowing residents to enjoy outdoor activities and community events. Its location in the heart of the Carver Heights neighborhood makes it easily accessible to local families and children.
