Douglas Park

Douglas Park is a recreational area located in the Bellaire Heights neighborhood of Garland, Texas, south of Avenue D. The park spans 3.9 total acres, with 2.1 acres developed for public use. It offers visitors multiple opportunities to enjoy outdoor activities and relaxation.

In October 2021, Douglas Park underwent significant improvements as part of a bond project. The centerpiece of these upgrades is a new 4,500-square-foot playground featuring a geometric hive of explorative play features. This innovative playground design includes poured-in-place rubberized surfacing for safety and comfort. The play area is suitable for children aged 5 to 12 and includes a swing set, spinner, and climbing structures.

One of the park's notable features is its abundance of mature trees, which provide ample shade for the playground and picnic areas. These trees contribute to the park's tranquil atmosphere, making it an ideal spot for reading, relaxation, or simply enjoying nature.

Douglas Park also includes a trail system, with 0.2 miles of paved pathways perfect for light exercise or leisurely strolls. The park's layout and amenities make it suitable for various activities, from family outings to individual recreation.
