About Harborview Park in Everett
Harborview Park is an 8-acre public park located on W Mukilteo Boulevard in Everett, Washington. The park offers scenic views overlooking Possession Sound, with vistas of the Tulalip Reservation, downtown Everett, Camano Island, Gedney (Hat) Island, and Whidbey Island visible on clear days.
The park features grassy open spaces that provide an ideal spot for picnicking while taking in the panoramic northerly views. Walking trails wind through the park, allowing visitors to stroll and enjoy the natural surroundings.
Historically, the site of Harborview Park has significance dating back to Everett's early days. In 1863, brothers David and Jacob Livingston established the first steam-powered sawmill in Snohomish County near the present-day park location. Later in 1872, Jacob Livingston filed the first townsite plat in the area, ambitiously naming it "Western New York," though the planned development never materialized.
The park is open daily from 6 am until dusk, offering visitors ample opportunity to experience its scenic beauty throughout the day. Its elevated location on a bluff provides sweeping views that make it a popular destination for both locals and visitors seeking to appreciate Everett's coastal setting.
