About Optimist Park in Green Bay
Allouez Parks & Recreation manages multiple parks and recreational facilities within the Village of Allouez, located in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The department oversees 12 parks encompassing over 300 acres of parkland, providing diverse outdoor spaces for residents and visitors.
The parks system includes a variety of amenities catering to different interests and age groups. Green Isle Park, one of the larger parks in the system, features a pavilion, playgrounds, athletic fields, and walking trails along the East River. Kiwanis Park offers an outdoor shelter, playground equipment, and sports facilities including basketball courts and soccer fields.
Allouez Parks & Recreation maintains several athletic complexes throughout the village. These include baseball and softball diamonds, tennis courts, and multi-purpose fields suitable for various sports activities. The department also manages the Broadview Soccer Complex, which provides dedicated space for soccer enthusiasts.
In addition to traditional park amenities, some Allouez parks offer unique features. For instance, kayak and canoe launches are available at certain locations, allowing water enthusiasts to access the East River. The parks system also includes natural areas and multi-use trails for hiking and biking.
